About

Our History
Est 1941
The Industrial Arbitration Panel (IAPANEL) is a quasi-judicial agency under Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment. Initially established in 1941 as an ad hoc Arbitration Tribunal and Board of Inquiry to settle trade disputes, it became a permanent body in 1969 under Decree No. 53. This decree formalized its role in adjudicating trade disputes across public and private sectors. The name “Industrial Arbitration Panel” was introduced by the Trade Disputes Decree No. 7 of 1976, now recognized as the Trade Disputes Act Cap T8 LFN 2004.
